AMEC HOSTS GATHERING FOR INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES AT SEMICON WEST TO SHARE UPDATES ON ITS BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGIES AND PRODUCTS

SHANGHAI, China & SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., July 11, 2018 – Last night at SEMICON West in San Francisco, Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc. (AMEC) held a Cocktail Event to share updates on the company’s technologies, products and global business activities. Hosted by AMEC’s CEO, Dr. Gerald Z. Yin and his executive staff, the event also celebrated the achievements produced daily by all who contribute to the global semiconductor industry. It drew more than 100 industry executives representing AMEC’s customers and suppliers, as well as market and financial analysts, and semiconductor industry influencers.

In welcoming guests, Dr. Yin remarked on the tight ties that connect the players in an industry known for producing remarkable innovation. “No industry compares to semiconductors when it comes to innovation,” he said. “And from device design to final silicon, it takes a global integrated effort to turn such innovation into products that drive progress in the world. Last night, we were thrilled to celebrate so many that contribute so much to the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. We feel privileged to participate in this thriving industry, and we are glad to celebrate our collective achievements in San Francisco this week.”

At the event, guests heard the latest on AMEC’s expanding portfolio of Etch and MOCVD products. To date, the company has installed more than 800 process chambers in 40 production lines worldwide. Customers are deploying AMEC’s Primo Etch tools for diverse applications and at process nodes as low as 5nm. Momentum is also brisk for AMEC’s MOCVD business with its Prismo A-7 system used by leading manufacturers to produce LEDs. Since the release of the system in 2016, AMEC’s market share in China has grown to more than 70 percent.

Dr. Yin made special mention of AMEC’s award-winning customer service, noting that the company was recognized by leading research firm, VLSIresearch in its 2018 Customer Satisfaction Survey for worldwide suppliers of semiconductor equipment. “We were very pleased to rank 2nd in the 10 BEST Focused Suppliers of Chip Making Equipment category, and 3rd in THE BEST Suppliers of Fab Equipment category,” he said. “It is the first time a China-based supplier appeared in the leading global survey and we have our dedicated service and support team to thank for the achievement.”

Throughout the evening, Dr. Yin paid tribute to AMEC’s customers who lead the world in innovation and bring advanced products to market. Since 2004, AMEC has collaborated with these technology giants to help them overcome technical obstacles and manufacture remarkable devices. Dr. Yin also praised AMEC’s 400+ global suppliers and thanked them for their contribution to AMEC’s growth and success.

Finally, Dr. Yin recognized and credited AMEC’s employees. “We are now 600-strong. A diverse multi-national workforce operating in all major semiconductor manufacturing regions. I am so proud of our talented employees and their commitment to innovating superb technologies and building great products,” he said.
